WATER FOR LIFE: SAFE DRINKING WATER SUPPLY FOR CHILDREN VULNERABLE TO CLIMATE RISK
The program is a very special needed program for the children suffering in climate vulnerability in Coxsbazar. Coxsbazar is one of the most vulnerable coastal districts in Bangladesh having been often being victim to sea storm, tidal bore, hurricane and cyclone and struggle to survive with the natural hazards. People in this disaster prone district are often vulnerable to natural calamities like flooding, riverbank erosion and siltation, and floods, storm surges and cyclones are contributing to increases in water salinity and other problems accessing clean and sweet water in coastal areas of this district. Surface water sources have already dried up in northern parts of the district, which have a heavy impact on access to drinking water, sanitation and ecosystems.
